In an Instagram video, Shannon Amos paid tribute to her late father by dancing with him to Luther Vandross' "Dance with My Father."

In the caption, Shannon Amos wrote, "I am without words...Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my Dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on August 21." Kelly Christopher Amos, the actor's son, announced the news of his death on Tuesday.

The statement that was provided to CNN reads, "It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned." He was adored all over the world for being a man with the kindest and most radiant heart. He is regarded as their TV father by many fans. I have had a pleasant life. His outstanding roles in film and television will continue his legacy.
